SB 805 - Under current law, a police officer, law enforcement official, or a physician may request a juvenile officer to take a child into protective custody if such person has reasonable cause to suspect that a child is suffering from illness or injury or is in danger of personal harm by reason of his or her surroundings and that a case of child abuse or neglect exists. This act allows a Children's Division investigator within the Department of Social Services to do the same. ADRIANE CROUSE
