SB 807 - Currently, the court is required to have a hearing within fifteen days after a petition for an order of protection is filed. This act gives the court discretion to hold a hearing, if the petition alleges that a person who is not a family member of household member has engaged in stalking, and if the court finds that the action is brought in good faith and not for the purposes of intimidating the alleged stalker. The court may make such finding within forty-five days after the petition is filed. EMILY KALMER
