SCS/SB 102 – Current law provides that a child between fourteen and sixteen years of age may be employed with a work certificate. This act specifies that a work certificate will permit the employment of a child fourteen or fifteen years of age.A work certificate will not be required for a child fifteen years of age to work from June 1 to Labor Day. However, a child must obtain written permission from his or her parent and provide this to the employer, who must keep it on file.
