SB 646 - This act makes certain types of field tests for controlled substances admissible, subject to other substantive or procedural objections, in preliminary hearings and applications for arrest warrants in cases involving violations of the drug control laws. The results of the tests are admissible as evidence of the identity of a controlled substance. In order to be admissible, the law enforcement officer conducting the field test must be trained and certified in the appropriate procedures for the test.
This act is identical to SB 227 (2011).
