Current Bill Summary

SB 183 - This act creates the Class A misdemeanor offense of unlawful search. A person commits the offense if such person is a government officer and, in order to determine whether to grant access to a public venue or transportation source, such person engages in certain actions.

These actions include touching certain specified body parts of the other person, removing a child from the custody or control of a parent or guardian, assaulting the person, or engaging in other threatening and harassing actions.

Government officer is defined under the act.
