HCS/HB 630 - This act modifies provisions relating to economic development.MISSOURI QUALITY JOBS ACT
This act adds new and expanding manufactures of firearms and ammunition to the types of projects that may be eligible for incentives under the program. Withholding taxes for a new job may be retained by a company for three years if the wages exceed the county average wage or for five years if the wages exceed the county average wage by 120%. The maximum amount of benefits a company may retain annually is $3 million. Benefits under the program for these types of projects will end August 28, 2019. (Section 620.1881)
MANUFACTURING JOBS ACT
Currently, this program uses the North American Industry Classification System to classify companies. The act switches the classification system to the standard industrial classification system. The act also raises the cap on the program from $15 million to $60 million. The sunset is extended from October 12, 2016 to August 28, 2019. (Section 620.1910)
MISSOURI INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS ADVERTISING FUND
This act creates the Missouri International Business Advertising Fund. The fund will consist of appropriated moneys, gifts, contributions, grants and bequests. Moneys in the fund will be used for advertising to attract international businesses to Missouri. The fund will be administered by the Missouri Small Business Technology and Development Center.
These provisions are identical to HCS/HB 79 (2013) and similar to HB 1801 (2012). (Section 620.1915)
