SB 81 - This act gives the courts the discretion to award attorney's fees to prevailing parties in civil actions where the defendant has violated civil rights protected by Missouri law, while acting under the color of law.

The act does not affect certain immunity defenses available to defendants, nor does it preclude parties from claiming court costs and attorney's fees under other applicable law.
