SB 934 - This act allows public and charter schools to conduct assessments of students' body mass index ("BMI") and to send a confidential letter to parents with the results of the assessment. This act further allows the letter to parents to include information on obesity related health risks and information on further evaluation and treatment. This act also requires health plans to offer coverage for childhood obesity at no higher rate of coinsurance than other services provided by the health plan.
