Current Bill Summary

SB 950 - Under current law, municipal housing authorities have the power, notwithstanding any provision of law, to include in any contract let in connection with a housing project requirements that the contractor and subcontractors comply with minimum wages, maximum hours of labor, and any conditions which the federal government may have attached to its financial aid of the project.

This act specifies that, notwithstanding any provision of state law, housing authorities may, in addition to the contractual provisions allowed under current law, require the contractor and subcontractors to comply with prevailing wage requirements and to comply exclusively with any requirements, policies, or contractual provisions the federal government may have attached or adopted with regard to its financial aid of the project.
