SB 158 - Current law lists a number of aggravating circumstances, which, if found by a judge or jury to exist in a particular case of first degree murder, may result in the defendant being sentenced to death. This act adds committing murder as an act of terrorism in that it was committed for the purpose of intimidating or coercing a civilian population, influencing the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion, or affecting the conduct of a government to the list of aggravating circumstances.
