Current Bill Summary

SB 891 - This act requires the Attorney General to ensure that volunteers at state prisons and local jails are screened for terrorist connections and proclivities. Under this act, the Attorney General has a duty to require appropriate action whenever a volunteer's screening raises questions about terrorist connections or proclivities.

This act also requires the director of the Department of Corrections to study procedures to reduce terrorist radicalization during imprisonment. The results of the study must reported to the Joint Committee on the Justice System and the Joint Committee on Government Accountability by December 1, 2016.
