HB 2226 - This act adds special executive branch appointees to the definition of "public official" for purposes of existing lobbyist reporting provisions. A special executive branch appointee is defined in the act to include members of certain advisory entities appointed or under the direction of an executive branch official where such entity reports to the executive branch official on policy changes that would involve the expenditure of public funds. Special executive branch appointees are also required to file financial interest statements. The act further adds public officials, as defined in current law, to provisions of law concerning conflicts of interest.SCOTT SVAGERA
