SB 627 - This act requires each public institution of higher education to develop and implement a policy to advise students and staff on suicide prevention programs available on and off campus that includes, but is not limited to crisis intervention access, mental health program access, multimedia application access, student communication plans, and post intervention plans.

Such policy shall also advise students, faculty, and staff of the proper procedures for identifying and addressing the needs of students exhibiting suicidal tendencies or behavior, and shall require training where appropriate.

Each public institution of higher education shall provide all incoming students with information about depression and suicide prevention resources available to students.

The information contained in such policy, in addition to any applicable free-of-cost prevention materials or programs, shall be posted on the websites of each public institution of higher education.

Each public institution shall establish and maintain methods of anonymous reporting of unsafe, potentially harmful, dangerous, violent, or criminal activities, or the threat of such activities. Such methods shall ensure the anonymity of the reporting party.

HA 1 - THIS AMENDMENT REQUIRES EACH PUBLIC INSTITUTION OF HIGHER EDUCATION TO ADOPT A POLICY ON STUDENT FAVORITISM.

HA 2 - THIS AMENDMENT REQUIRES EACH HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION TO ENGAGE IN DISCUSSIONS WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT TO DEVELOP A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING CONCERNING THE HANDLING OF SEXUAL ASSAULT, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, DATING VIOLENCE, AND STALKING.

HA 3 - THIS AMENDMENT ALLOWS LICENSED EDUCATORS TO ANNUALLY COMPLETE UP TO TWO HOURS OF TRAINING IN YOUTH SUICIDE AWARENESS AND PREVENTION AS PART OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT HOURS. THIS AMENDMENT ALSO REQUIRES EACH SCHOOL DISTRICT TO ADOPT A POLICY FOR YOUTH SUICIDE AWARENESS AND PREVENTION.

HA 4 - THIS AMENDMENT ESTABLISHES THE SHOW-ME COMPASSIONATE MEDICAL EDUCATION ACT, WITH PROVIDES THAT NO MEDICAL SCHOOL SHALL DISCOURAGE OR OTHERWISE PREVENT STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS FROM STUDYING THE PREVALENCE OF DEPRESSION AND SUICIDE IN MEDICAL STUDENTS.

THIS AMENDMENT ALSO PROVIDES THAT DOCUMENTS AND REPORTS OF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS OR AGENCIES AND INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION THAT INVOLVE SUICIDE OR ATTEMPTED SUICIDE SHALL BE CLOSED RECORDS FOR THIRTY DAYS AFTER THE SUICIDE OR ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.

HA 1 TO HA 4 - THIS AMENDMENT PROVIDES THAT THE REPORTING OF UNSAFE, POTENTIALLY HARMFUL, DANGEROUS, VIOLENT, OR CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES, OR THE THREAT OF SUCH ACTIVITIES SHALL REMAIN ANONYMOUS EXCEPT WHEN CRIMINAL, CIVIL, OR ADMINISTRATIVE ACTION IS INITIATED REGARDING SUCH ACTIVITIES.

HA 5 - THIS AMENDMENT PROVIDES A DEFINITION OF "MENTAL HEALTH SERVICE DOG" OR "PSYCHIATRIC SERVICE DOG".

HA 6 - THIS AMENDMENT MODIFIES SEVERAL PROVISIONS RELATING TO CHARTER SCHOOLS, INCLUDING CHARTER SCHOOL SPONSORSHIP, APPLICATION PROCEDURES, ENROLLMENT POLICIES, TUITION, EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION, AND THE TRANSPORTATION AND ACCEPTANCE OF TRANSFER STUDENTS.
