The Senate Minute for Dec. 22, 2015: Session Preview

Jefferson City — Some of the work that may have been left undone this year could be considered during the next legislative session. The Second Regular Session of the 98th General Assembly is scheduled to start at noon on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016. We’ve included actualities from Senate President Pro Tem Ron Richard, R-Joplin, and Senate Minority Floor Leader Joseph Keaveny, D-St. Louis, in this feature report narrated by Senate Communications Officer Dean Morgan.

A digital audio file script (.docx) of this feature is also available online. You can download the following radio report in .mp3 format by clicking the following link: Senate Minute. Every Friday, Senate Communications offers This Week in the Missouri Senate, a wrap up of the week’s actions that includes audio from floor debate, committee hearings and one-on-one interviews with the senators themselves.

Plus, Daily Audio/Video Clips are available on the Senate Communications website. These are offered throughout the session and periodically throughout the rest of the year. Much like the Senate Minute and This Week in the Missouri Senate, the cuts are culled from the day’s floor debate and committee hearings.

In addition, Senate Communications produces This Date in Missouri Senate History, a feature that looks back at the impact made by the Missouri Legislature throughout the history of the Show-Me State. This feature is offered on a regular basis.

The Capitol Briefing, written weekly during the legislative session and on a monthly basis throughout the interim, summarizes the latest news generated by the Missouri Senate. If you would like to subscribe to the Missouri Senate’s Capitol Briefing, please click here.
