SS/HCS/HB 452 - This act creates a definition for the term "employee" and repeals the definition for the term "physician employee" in provisions relating to causes of action for damages against a health care provider for personal injury or death. The act also states that in causes of action for damages against a health care provider for personal injury or death a health care provider, rather than an individual or entity, shall not be liable for the actions of another person who is not the health care provider's employee, unless such person is an employee of a subsidiary in which the health care provider has a controlling interest and does not have a certain type of liability insurance policy, as specified in an act.
This act is similar to HCS/SCS/SB 237 (2017).
