SCS/HCS/HB 316 - This act changes the experience requirements for initial licensure as a psychologist. Under the provisions of the act, supervised professional experience may be accrued through preinternship, internship, predoctoral postinternship, or postdoctoral experiences. Each applicant must complete 1,500 hours or supervised professional experience as part of his or her required internship, along with an additional 2,000 hours through preinternship, predoctoral postinternship, internship, or postdoctoral experiences. Additionally, the act provides that a doctoral degree in psychology from a program accredited, or provisionally accredited, by the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System or the Canadian Psychological Association is acceptable to meet various requirements for licensure as a psychologist if the program meets certain requirements as described in the act. This act contains provisions substantially similar to CCS/HCS/SB 501 (2017), and similar to SB 366 (2017), SB 397 (2017), HB 2639 (2016), and HB 1083 (2015). JAMIE ANDREWS
