JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Sen. Jill Schupp, D-Creve Coeur, today issued a statement in response to the Senate Majority Caucus’ Missouri Senate Planned Parenthood Review.
“The Republican report and corresponding press conference are just politics as usual in this election year,” Schupp said. “This is a misguided attempt to respond to the recent Supreme Court decision on the Whole Women’s Health v. Hellerstedt case. Planned Parenthood of Missouri is in full compliance with state and federal laws. The information that launched this investigation has been widely discredited. It is a misuse of taxpayer time and dollars to undermine a woman’s access to the full range of safe, legal, and affordable reproductive health care services. What we need to do is refocus our efforts to repeal unconstitutional laws that limit a woman’s ability to keep control of her body and her future.”
