Newly Elected State Senator Denny Hoskins Begins First Term

JEFFERSON CITY — Newly elected State Sen. Denny Hoskins, R-Warrensburg, was sworn into the Missouri Senate on Wednesday, Jan. 4, at noon. He will represent the people of Missouri’s 21st Senatorial District. Sen. Hoskins was sworn in by Missouri Supreme Court Chief Justice Patricia Breckenridge.

“I am honored to serve the Missouri Senate and the wonderful people of the 21st Senate District. It is a privilege to have the support of my family, friends and constituency as I begin this next chapter in my legislative career,” said Sen. Hoskins.

Sen. Hoskins was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2008 and was elected to the office of Speaker Pro Tem in 2013. He served four terms in the Missouri House before he was elected to the Missouri Senate to represent the 21st District, which covers Caldwell, Carroll, Howard, Johnson, Lafayette, Livingston, Ray and Saline counties.

“In his opening address, Senate President Pro Tem Ron Richard, R-Joplin, told us to plan ahead, pay attention to the details and have the courage to say what needs to be said,” added Sen. Hoskins. “I think he has set a great tone for this session, and I am looking forward to working with my Senate colleagues in the coming months.”

In addition to his legislative duties, Sen. Hoskins is a certified public accountant and resides in Warrensburg with his fiancée Michelle, and children, Cole and Amelia.
