Jefferson City — State Sen. Wayne Wallingford, R-Cape Girardeau, today issued the following statement regarding the severe storms that swept across southeast Missouri on Tuesday evening.
“The devastating results of last night’s storms leave me with a heavy heart. However, I believe the community will work together and become stronger after this natural disaster. As the neighborhoods surrounding Perryville move to clean up the damage left behind by the tornado, I offer my condolences to the family who has lost a loved one in this tragedy. My thoughts and prayers are with you today. I also want to recognize and thank the governor and his team for their quick response to the storm.
