Road Closures:
1. Visit http://traveler.modot.org/map/ as the week progresses for an up-to-date list of road closures.
2. There are currently 18 roads closed across Jefferson County. Current roads impacted include: Highways: AA, B, C, EE, M, W, BB and Y and Hwy 141 at 44.
3. Within the next 24 hours, we anticipate the closure of Hwy 44 west of 141, Hwy 30 and Hwy 21 at the Meramec and Hwy 141 at Romaine Creek.
4. Hwy 30 is already closed in St. Clair.
5. We anticipate major delays due to rerouting of traffic over the next few days. Closings may last through the end of the week.
6. As of May 1 at 3 pm, the current prediction at the Arnold River gauge will not require MoDOT to close I-55 just north of the Meramec River. The river is expected to crest around noon on Wednesday. However, we are expecting more rain in the Meramec River drainage basin. MoDot will continue to monitor the river levels and announce and changes as soon as we know it.
7. Other state and county roads may be compromised depending on the amount of rain we receive on Tuesday evening into Wednesday.
Recent heavy rains have led to the closing of several routes in Jefferson County, Missouri, due to high water. With more rain in the forecast, more roads could flood without warning. MoDOT says situations can change quickly, especially during flooding.
Motorists are reminded to stay alert and to not drive through any water over the roadway. It only takes six inches of water (or less!) to lose control of your vehicle and possibly be swept into rising floodwaters. Any time there is water over the roadway, there may be damage to the road surface below. Turn Around! Don’t Drown!

Rivers are expected to crest on Wednesday. Some area homes that were affected in the 2015 flood may again be affected by this event. This crest will be several feet below the crest of December, 2015.
Electric power shut off will be made on a house per house basis.
Sewer main in critical locations may be shut down.
