Sunday evening, Mt. Calvary Powerhouse Church in Poplar Bluff hosted its second annual “Bridging the Gap” Service, designed to bring unity, understanding and cooperation to our community between citizens and law enforcement. I had the honor of presenting a plaque to Missouri State Highway Patrol Acting Col. Sandra Karsten. Colonel Karsten was recognized with the Patrol’s community outreach. Many law enforcement agencies from across Southeast Missouri were in attendance and joined to pray for the safety and good work of our officers. Afterwards, those in attendance were able to visit and network with the officers while enjoying a great meal provided by church volunteers. Special thanks to Bishop Ron Webb and the members and friends of Mt. Calvary Powerhouse Church for their superb job of hosting and singing at this great service, which recognized our heroes. Thank you to the Missouri State Highway Patrol and all of our great law enforcement officers for the job they do each day to keep us safe.
