Harassment in the workforce should not be tolerated anywhere. That holds true for the General Assembly as well. Last week, I was involved in an incident with a member of the Missouri House of Representatives. The representative put his hands on me, brought me into a forcible embrace, and then followed me. He also called me “boo” several times rather than using my given name or referring to me by my title as Senator. Such actions and the subsequent disrespect of women are inappropriate and cannot be tolerated. I will continue to call out harassment when I see it. You can read my full statement on the incident in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch here
