ST. LOUIS — The Senate Interim Task Force on Predatory Towing Practices will hold a public hearing at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4 at the University of Missouri – Saint Louis in the Millennium Student Center, Century Room A.
The scope of the task force’s investigation is to analyze towing practices, including predatory practices performed by some of its members; evaluate the response by local governments to combat predatory practices within its jurisdiction; develop strategies to combat predatory towing practices; and advise on creating a coordinated, comprehensive framework to establish and enforce regulatory standards for tow truck operations.
“I want to encourage the citizens of our state who have encountered predatory towing practices to take this opportunity and have their voices heard,” said Sen. Paul Wieland. “The information citizens provide could lead to changes that will prevent others from falling victim to predatory towing practices.”
Public testimony is welcome and pre-registration is encouraged. To register to testify, please call Lisa Dailey at (573) 751-1492.
