JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Jamilah Nasheed, D-St. Louis, is welcoming friends and neighbors to the Joint Venture Town Hall Forum. Monday, June 12.
“Next week’s event will give people in the community an opportunity to come together and discuss ways we can better use our buildings and vacant lots,” Sen. Nasheed said. “Our town hall event will feature local leaders who work with real estate and other areas of investment throughout the St. Louis area.”
A Firm Foundation has partnered with Senator Nasheed on a quest to invest and stabilize the City of St. Louis, particularly North St. Louis. There is a state of emergency and action is needed in our city with so much crime, death and lack of resources. Our city has a multifaceted situation and this meeting is to spark and introduce the opportunities of owning, investing and supporting our neighborhoods. If supplied with the right resources and understanding the needs of the people this is achievable. Our goal for the forum is to present opportunities, education and resources that one may have not imagined or were looking for more information. With your assistance we can reestablish St. Louis cities devastated neighborhoods.
This forum will help citizens understand how they can purchase property from the Land Reutilization Authority (LRA). The St. Louis City Sheriff sales department will also be on hand to assist in finding LRA properties and understanding the purchase process. The event will be held at the YMCA O’Fallon Park Recreation Complex, located at 4343 W. Florissant Ave., and will start at 6 pm.
