JEFFERSON CITY — State Senator Mike Parson, R-Bolivar, has filed Senate Concurrent Resolution 52, which will disapprove the State Tax Commission’s recommendation to increase the assessed valuation of agricultural land.
“The State Tax Commission’s recommendations would result in tax increases for family farmers across Missouri, and I filed SCR 52 to keep this from happening. Agriculture is of vital importance to our economy, and we should be doing everything we can to help promote farming, not raising taxes on these family businesses,” said Mike Parson. “Passing SCR 52 is necessary to protect our agriculture industry, and I am honored to have the opportunity to sponsor this common sense measure.”
Mike Parson is a farmer and serves as State Senator for the 28th District, which includes the counties of Benton, Cedar, Dallas, Hickory, Laclede, Pettis, Polk, and St. Clair.
