Jefferson City — Senator Ryan Silvey (R-Kansas City) today announced the hiring of Nick Haynes to serve as his chief of staff in the upcoming legislative session. Haynes will start immediately and replace outgoing Chief of Staff Aaron Willard.
“I am incredibly grateful to Aaron for his hard work over the last two years,” said Silvey in a statement. “Aaron is a top-notch talent who was instrumental in pushing my legislative agenda. I look forward to seeing what he accomplishes as he transitions to the national level.”
“Nick has shown himself to be a tremendous worker and will be a great addition to my office. He brings a solid combination of experience and a diverse background. His extensive knowledge of the legislative process and policy expertise will be invaluable to me and my constituents in the coming years,” Silvey said.
“Senator Silvey has built an impressive record of service to Missouri and of putting his constituents before his own interests,” Haynes said. “I am honored to have the opportunity to help ensure the voices of the 17th District will be heard in Jefferson City loud and clear.”
Prior to joining Silvey’s office, Haynes served as a legislative assistant in the Missouri House of Representatives over the course of seven legislative sessions, with stints as committee clerk for both appropriations and legislative committees. Haynes is a native of the Kansas City area, a Navy veteran and a graduate of the University of Missouri, where he earned both his bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor and served as MU College Republicans president, Student Body senator and lead articles editor for the Journal of Dispute Resolution.
