Current Bill Summary

SCS/SB 813 - This act classifies any offense of peace disturbance as a Class A misdemeanor for which a person shall be sentenced to pay a fine of no less than one thousand dollars and no more than five thousand dollars or sentenced to imprisonment for seven to thirty days if that offense results in the obstruction of an interstate highway or limited access highway, or in the unreasonable and physical obstruction of emergency services personnel.

Additionally, any person who commits the offense of peace disturbance and obstructs an interstate highway or limited access highway, or obstructs emergency services personnel, shall be civilly liable for economic damages to any person for whom harmed is caused by such action.
