SB 937 - This act repeals the "Strengthening Missouri Families Act", which included provisions of law relating to Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) work requirements, a cash diversion program that granted recipients lump sum cash grants for short-term needs, an orientation program, and annual reporting requirements for the Department of Social Services, as well as changed the 45 month lifetime limit of benefits to a 60 month lifetime limit. This act also repeals provisions directing the Department to utilize 2% of federal TANF money to fund alternatives to abortion services and 2% to fund health marriage promotion activities. Finally, this act repeals a provision terminating a waiver of work requirements for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). This act is identical to HB 2078 (2018).
