JEFFERSON CITY — Today the Certificate of Need Board met and approved, by a 6–0 vote, the Clarendale of St. Peters certificate of need application. The project will add 110 new beds to care for those in need of long-term health care. The project represents a significant investment in the St. Peters community in excess of $50 million, providing job opportunities for working families in St. Charles County.
“I am pleased with the approval of the Clarendale certificate of need application,” Sen. Eigel said. “I would like to thank the members of the committee for demonstrating a commitment to the free market and allowing a new business to compete, which will result in great jobs and lower health care costs for my constituents.”
The committee voted unanimously in support of the project after hearing testimony from several local leaders, including Sen. Eigel, Mayor Len Pagano and state Rep. Phil Christofanelli.
“With St. Charles County growing faster than ever before, I am so happy to have helped secure unanimous support for this important facility,” Rep. Christofanelli said. “Families in my district want a place nearby where their parents and grandparents can enjoy retirement with the support and care they deserve.”
The Clarendale assisted living facility is expected to break ground in the summer of 2018.
