JEFFERSON CITY — The governor vetoed three measures this year, not including line items from the budget:
- Senate Bill 894 and 921, legislation that would have modified provisions relating to education curriculum involving science and technology;
- House Bill 2562, a measure that would have modified provisions relating to municipal courts and ordinances, abandoned property, salaries of Kansas City police officers, treatment courts, court personnel and procedure, judicial retirement, service of process in certain cases and private probation services; and
- Senate Concurrent Resolution 50, which would have requested Congress to replace the statue of Thomas Hart Benton in the Statuary Hall of the U.S. Capitol with a statue of Harry S Truman.
Senate Bill 894 and 921, and House Bill 2562, are both the subject for an extra session that will coincide with next week’s veto session.
