JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Senate approved legislation raising the age of juvenile prosecution for most criminal offenses. Senate Bill 793 requires children under the age of 18 to be prosecuted in juvenile court, unless they are certified as an adult. Currently, 17-year-olds in Missouri are prosecuted for criminal offenses in courts of general jurisdiction.
