JEFFERSON CITY — Missouri senators give first-round approval to Senate Bill 434, a measure that would allow school districts to allocate less than 1 percent, but no less than .5 percent, of money received under the school foundation formula to the professional development committee of the district when certain requirements are met. Another positive vote would send the proposal to the Missouri House of Representatives for similar consideration. We’ve included actualities from bill sponsor, Sen. David Sater, R-Cassville, and Sen. Scott Sifton, D-Affton, in this feature report narrated by Senate Communications Officer Dean Morgan.
