SB 238 - Under current law, a claimant for unemployment benefits shall not be determined to be ineligible for benefits because of not actively and earnestly seeking work if the claimant is temporarily unemployed through no fault of his or her own with a definite recall date within 8 weeks from the first day of unemployment. This act changes that period to 4 weeks from the first day of unemployment, provided that the period may be extended to 8 weeks upon the application of the employer. This act is identical to HB 372 (2019).
