SCS/HCS/HB 266 - This act creates state designations for "Missouri Sliced Bread Day", and Missouri historical theaters. MISSOURI SLICED BREAD DAY (Section 9.240) This act designates July 7 of each year as "Missouri Sliced Bread Day" and encourages citizens to participate in appropriate activities and events to commemorate the first sale of sliced bread in 1928 in Chillicothe, Missouri. This provision is identical to HB 78 (2019) and HB 1349 (2018). MISSOURI HISTORICAL THEATER DESIGNATIONS (Section 185.070) This act establishes the designation of "Missouri Historical Theater". Under this act, the Missouri State Council on the Arts is required to administer the Missouri historical theater program as specified in the act. The Council shall determine which theaters should receive the state historical theater designation by considering whether or not the theater is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, whether the theater produces a minimum of three shows open to the public each year, the extent to which the theater contributes to tourism in Missouri, the extent to which the theater promotes the arts in the community and the state, and whether the theater has been operational for at least 50 years. The Council shall, each year, provide a list of theaters that have achieved such designation to the Division of Tourism. JOSIE BUTLER
