SB 314 - Under this act, institutions of higher learning are prohibited from taking any action or enforcing any policy that denies a religious student association any benefit available to any other student association or that discriminates against such organization, based on the association's sincerely held religious beliefs or requirements. Any religious student association that has been aggrieved as a result of a violation or threatened violation of this act may assert such violation or threatened violation as a claim or defense in a judicial proceeding or administrative proceeding against the public institution of higher learning, and may obtain appropriate relief.
This act is identical to HB 837 (2019), HB 2074 (2018) and HCS/HB 642 (2017), and is similar to SB 1022 (2018).
