My colleagues sent several proposals to the Missouri House of Representatives this week. I am proud to sponsor Senate Bill 174, which modifies provisions relating to the reduction of taxes owed on certain income and deletes an obsolete tax credit.
Also, Senate Bill 219, legislation that seeks to modify provisions relating to the issuance and renewal of CPA permits, has received Missouri Senate approval. In addition, Senate Bill 297 would allow individuals 75 years of age or older to be excused from petit and grand jury service. I am hopeful to see all of these make their way to the governor’s desk and receive his signature.
In the weeks to come, we will discuss and debate the proposed operating budget for the next fiscal year. According to the Missouri Constitution, we must deliver the state’s spending blueprint to the executive branch by May 10. This means we will spend a lot of time on the floor, but it is extremely important to all Missourians that we deliver a fair and fiscally prudent budget that funds our priorities.
I am honored to serve as your senator in the Missouri Senate. If, at any time, you have questions, concerns or ideas regarding state government, please feel free to contact me at (573) 751-8793 or Sandy.Crawford@senate.mo.gov.
