The past week has been busy at the Capitol. We are seeing more House bills in the Missouri Senate, and our Senate bills are moving to be discussed and debated by the Missouri House of Representatives. Six of my bills have now passed in the Senate and have been sent to the House for their consideration.
These bills include:
- Senate Bill 53, a measure that seeks to modify the duties of county officials;
- Senate Bill 54, which sets default interest rates for voluntary payments made by insurance companies;
- Senate Bill 167, legislation that would modify provisions relating to bonding requirements on public works projects;
- Senate Bill 174, which includes Senate Bill 175, and would modify provisions relating to the reduction of taxes owed on certain income and repeal an obsolete tax credit.
- Senate Bill 230, which would modify provisions relating to venue in guardianship and conservatorship proceedings; and
- Senate Bill 264, legislation that seeks to transfer the Missouri Arts Council from the Missouri Department of Economic Development to the Office of the Lieutenant Governor.
In the next couple of weeks, we expect to debate and vote on the budget for Fiscal Year 2020 in the Missouri Senate, and we must have it delivered to the executive branch by May 10. Session will end on May 17.
I am honored to serve as your senator in the Missouri Senate. If, at any time, you have questions, concerns or ideas regarding state government, please feel free to contact me at (573) 751-8793 or Sandy.Crawford@senate.mo.gov.
