Elizabeth Galt joins Missouri

Developmental Disabilities Council

JEFFERSON CITY — The Missouri Senate confirmed Elizabeth Galt’s appointment to the Missouri Developmental Disabilities Council (MODDC).  As a member of the Council, Ms. Galt will participate in furthering the MODDC’s mission to assist individuals, families and communities to include all people with developmental disabilities in every aspect of life. Ms. Galt has extensive experience as an advocate for individuals with developmental disabilities and has served as a speaker and organizer for several developmental disability awareness events.

“I am honored to be on the Missouri Developmental Disabilities Council and I am excited to continue advocating for people with developmental disabilities,” Ms. Galt stated. “I hope to spread awareness about how individuals have abilities, not disabilities, and to do more for my community and the state of Missouri.”

Sen. Romine was proud to support Ms. Galt through the Senate confirmation process, and is confident she will be a great asset to the MODDC.

“The Missouri Developmental Disabilities Council provides a voice for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families,” Sen. Romine stated. “With Liz’s guidance and enthusiasm she will empower others.”

The Missouri Developmental Disabilities Council is a federally-funded, 23-member council appointed by the governor. Its purpose is to assure that individuals with developmental disabilities and their families participate in the design of and have access to needed community services, individualized supports and other forms of assistance that promote self-determination, independence, productivity and integration in all aspects of community life.
