Wednesday, March 28th marked the 4th annual Conservation Day at the Missouri State Capitol.
This event brings supporters of the outdoors together at the Capitol for a day of promoting and supporting our state’s vast natural resources and outdoor heritage.
More than 20 conservation-minded groups gathered on the 3rd floor rotunda to share their knowledge about the outdoors. Legislators and visitors toured exhibits to learn more about the diverse outdoor opportunities for all Missourians. Citizens also took the opportunity to meet with their legislators and speak with them about the importance of conservation in Missouri.
The Missouri Department of Conservation owns nearly 800,000 acres of land across the state and manages projects on more than 500,000 acres of land owned or leased by the department. The department hosts various programs that encourage citizens to get outdoors and enjoy the natural beauty of the Show-Me State.
