JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Bill Eigel, R-Weldon Spring, was honored by the Missouri Times Magazine in its 2018 Best of the Legislature feature, published in the Winter 2019 issue.
The feature highlights a dozen state lawmakers who editors of the magazine believe demonstrated remarkable service during the 2018 legislative session.
“It is a great honor to be named in the Missouri Times’ 2018 Best of the Legislature feature,” Sen. Eigel said. “Going forward, I will continue to use my position as state senator to advocate for efficient government and the rights of Missouri taxpayers.”
The feature specifically focuses on Sen. Eigel’s efforts to reform the state tax code. Last year, Sen. Eigel was the Senate sponsor for House Bill 2540, which closed loopholes in Missouri’s tax code and lowered the state individual income tax rate for a majority of Missourians. The bill was signed into law on July 12, 2018.
