JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Sandy Crawford, R-Buffalo, is pleased to announce the bills she supported during this year’s regular legislative session are now set to become law. A half dozen of those measures Sen. Crawford considers to be crucial for the 28th Senatorial District were signed into law last week.
“I want to thank the governor for helping turn this legislation into reality,” Sen. Crawford said. “Getting good bills over the finish line is never an easy task, and it takes hours of hard work with some great people to see it through. It is always a pleasure to do what we can to make Missouri a better place to live, work and raise a family.”
These new laws include:
- Senate Bill 54, which enacts provisions relating to insurance companies;
- Senate Bill 167 will modify provisions relating to bonding requirements on public works;
- Senate Bill 174 will modify provisions relating to taxation, which also included Senate Bill 175;
- Senate Bill 230, which modifies provisions relating to venue in guardianship and conservatorship proceedings;
- Senate Bill 196, a measure that modifies provisions relating to the Missouri Division of State Parks;
- House Bill 397, a measure that modifies provisions regarding the protection of children and took effect upon the governor’s signature; and
- House Bill 499, legislation that modifies provisions relating to transportation.
With the exception of HB 397, these new laws will take effect on Aug. 28.
Before last week, several other of Sen. Crawford’s priorities were signed into law, including:
- House Bill 612, which transfers the State Council on the Arts from the Missouri Department of Economic Development to the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, language also contained in Senate Bill 264; and
- Senate Bill 133, legislation that modifies provisions relating to agriculture, which includes Senate Bill 471 and Senate Bill 472.
Senator Crawford watches as SB 167 is signed into law.
