Wasson - Column Banner - 020212-IIThe 2018 Legislative Session Begins

The 2018 legislative session began on Wednesday, Jan. 3, and I am excited to begin my final year representing the citizens of the 20th Senatorial District. This session promises to be full of important legislation that will impact the lives of all Missourians. It is my goal to represent my district to the best of my ability and continue working towards a better future for Missouri.

Economic Development will continue to be my top priority during the 2018 legislative session. As chairman of the Missouri Senate’s Economic Development Committee, I understand that helping Missouri businesses grow results in more Missourians finding good jobs to help support themselves and their families.

I will also continue promoting job training as an opportunity for Missouri workers to develop and improve their skillsets. Through increased job training opportunities, we are making Missouri workers more attractive in the eyes of potential businesses and job creators looking to move to Missouri.

I have filed several bills to address economic development issues and promote job growth in the state of Missouri. These proposals aim to address real concerns and issues that are facing Missouri businesses and I am committed to helping facilitate the continued success of small businesses throughout the state.

The 2nd Regular Session of the 99th General Assembly will run through May 18. As we go forward in session, please know I value your input and my office is here to help in whatever way we can.
