JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Sandy Crawford, R-Buffalo, thanks officials at the Missouri Department of Revenue (DOR) for improving its “Tax Return Status Tracker.”
“This means my constituents can sign up for automatic email and text alerts for each time the status of their tax returns are updated,” Sen. Crawford said. “People won’t have to check online or call someone for these updates any longer. Now, they will come to people automatically.”
To enroll in alerts, customers only need three pieces of information: their Social Security number, filing status and anticipated refund or balance due. Return information will be available 48 hours after filing electronically or four weeks after mailing a paper return. Customers will receive easy-to-read graphics that indicate the current status of their return, the return processing steps that have already been completed, the next steps DOR will take and the refund issue date, if applicable.
“I would like to thank DOR for making this available to the public,” Sen. Crawford said. “It comes just in time, as everybody is busy with the process of filing taxes and anxious to see where their refunds are, in advance of Apr. 15.”
