JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Sandy Crawford, R-Buffalo, has been selected by her peers to serve as caucus whip during the 100th General Assembly.
“This is an extremely high honor,” Sen. Crawford said. “To be chosen as majority whip, only a year into my time as a Missouri senator, is a task I intend to take very seriously. I want to thank my fellow senators for considering me for this very important role.”
Senator Crawford was first-elected to the Missouri Senate in a special election in 2017. During this past legislative session, Sen. Crawford served on six key committees in the upper chamber, including as co-chair of the Joint Committee on the Review of the Plant Industries Division.
The First Regular Session of the 100th General Assembly will start in January 2019.
Copied after Congress, the majority caucus whip traditionally makes sure caucus members are present to cast votes.
“We have several new senators who will begin their journey in the Missouri Senate next year,” Sen. Crawford said. “This means new ideas and different approaches to solving some of the tough issues that face our wonderful state. I am looking forward to working with all of them, and my constituents, to continue to make Missouri better each day.”
