JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Lincoln Hough, R-Springfield, has learned which Missouri Senate committees he will serve on through next year. Committee assignments are made at the beginning of each General Assembly. Senator Hough will serve as vice-chair for the Missouri Senate Appropriations Committee.
“I am honored by the trust that Missouri President Pro Tem Dave Schatz has placed in me as vice-chair of the Appropriations Committee,” Sen. Hough said. “As always, I believe transparency and open dialogue are the building blocks, not only of our committee process, but when spending the people’s money.”
The Missouri Senate Appropriations Committee is responsible for holding hearings regarding the state’s annual operating budget, as well as other measures that relate to budgetary matters for the Show-Me State’s government. Missouri’s fiscal year runs from July 1 through June 30 of each year.
In addition, Sen. Hough will also serve on the following Missouri Senate panels:
- Economic Development;
- Fiscal Oversight;
- Local Government and Elections; and
- Ways and Means.
“The committee process here in the Missouri Senate is, in my opinion, the building block for fair and open dialogue whenever we’re discussing legislation,” Sen. Hough said. “I am happy to get this process started here today.”
