Senator Mike Bernskoetter Begins First Term in the Missouri Senate
JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Mike Bernskoetter, R-Jefferson City, took the oath of office in front of family members, friends and his fellow senators. Prior to the start of the 100th General Assembly, Senator Bernskoetter was elected to represent the 6th Senatorial District on Nov. 6, 2018.
“It is an honor to serve the Capitol City and the residents of the 6th Senatorial District in the Missouri Senate,” said Sen. Bernskoetter. “As a lifelong resident of Cole County, I will always keep the community’s interests in mind and work hard for the people I was elected to represent. I want to thank everyone for their support and hard work in helping make this day a reality.”
Before being elected to the Missouri Senate, Sen. Bernskoetter served in the Missouri House of Representatives for eight years after being elected in 2010. While in the Missouri House, Sen. Bernskoetter served as Chair of the Administration and Accounts Committee and the Joint Interim Committee on State Employee Wages.
“My time in the Missouri House has prepared me for the responsibility of representing my community in the Missouri Senate,” said Sen. Bernskoetter. “I’m no stranger to the legislative process, so I know today marks only the beginning of months of hard work to come. That said, I am excited to hit the ground running and start the important work of serving the citizens of the 6th Senatorial District.”
