JEFFERSON CITY — Missouri State Sen. Tony Luetkemeyer, R-Parkville, congratulates Al Landes upon his confirmation to the Missouri Western State University Board of Governors.
Landes was nominated to his seat by the governor and presented to the Missouri Senate Committee on Gubernatorial Appointments by Sen. Luetkemeyer, who serves on the committee. The Board of Governors oversees the four-year university, located in St. Joseph.
A resident of St. Joseph, Landes is president and chief operating officer of Herzog Contracting Corp, a transportation infrastructure construction firm that employs more than 1,800 worldwide. A 1974 graduate of Missouri Western, Landes is past president of Associated General Contractors of America and the National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association.
“It was an honor to sponsor Al’s nomination to the Missouri Western Board of Governors,” Sen. Luetkemeyer said. “He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the leadership of the University. I’m confident that the school and the community will both benefit immensely from his contributions to the board.”
The full Senate voted to confirm Landes’ nomination on Thursday, March 14. His term will expire in October of 2023.
