JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Bill Eigel, R-Weldon Spring, is proud to congratulate two schools in Missouri’s 23rd Senatorial District that were named “Gold Star Schools” for 2019 by the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
Becky-David Elementary and Warren Elementary, both part of the Francis Howell R-III School District, received Gold Star designation for exceptional academic achievement. Both schools were also nominated for the U.S. Department of Education’s Blue Ribbon Schools program, whose winners will be announced in the fall.
“I believe in the importance of education, and I’m proud of what our local schools have been able to accomplish,” Sen. Eigel said. “Thanks to the tireless efforts of our parents, teachers and administrators, St. Charles County is leading the way in quality education.”
This year, DESE awarded Gold Star designation to eight schools throughout Missouri. The Francis Howell R-III School District was the only district to have more than one winning school.
