SB 860 - Under current law, any person seeking to cast an absentee ballot must provide an excuse. This act provides that any person may cast an absentee ballot in person at a place determined by the election authority without stating a reason. The act additionally prohibits gathering signatures for a statewide ballot measure within 100 feet of a polling place. Such an act is considered a class four election offense, punished by imprisonment of not more than one year or by a fine of not more than two thousand five hundred dollars or by both such imprisonment and fine.
This act is identical to HCS/HB 1761 (2020).
