With one day to go until the start of the 2020 legislative session, lawmakers are reviewing their list of goals for the year. Some of the things they talk about this year were also a part of last year’s regular legislative session. Missouri Senate President Pro Tem Dave Schatz of Sullivan says he wants to end illegal gaming…
“My goal is to make sure that we have taken care of the illegal machines,” Sen. Schatz said. “And, the revenue we’re losing out on that should be going to our education system.”
To this end, he is sponsoring Senate Bill 557. Missouri Senate Minority Floor Leader Gina Walsh of Bellefontaine Neighbors says she wants to see lead testing in schools…
“And, we have a number of old school buildings across this state,” Sen. Walsh said. “See if we can move that down the road and maybe get something where we start looking at these schools and our drinking water.”
The Second Regular Session of the 100th General Assembly will officially begin at noon tomorrow.
